Ellie & NickGolden hour summer photoshoot in the garden and local field
On a warm sunny evening in August near Edenbridge I met this gorgeous family to help them hold onto the childhood years.
We played in their garden, captured some beautiful images in the window of their home (I love a window shot!) and then went for a walk over to a local field. It had long grass, trees to explore and the family spent time together doing what they love while I snapped away. I give prompts and suggestions, not poses in my sessions and it ensure the photos we get are real connections and genuine emotions - no forced smiles and no awkward moments.
There is something really special about golden hour and although it doesn’t suit for every family, if your kids are a little older or you can tweak the routine for a day and stay up a little later - it can be super exciting for the kids but importantly it makes for images that will really stand out! There are also times of the day when golden hour is much earlier so an early spring or Autumn shoot after school for example can yield some beautiful light and sunsets.
Oh my god they are actually amazing - I'm crying and I've just put mascara on!!'
