Autumn is one of my favourite times of year to photograph families here in Kent. The colours, the soft golden light, the fallen leaves kids love to play with — it’s the perfect setting for natural, fun-filled family portraits.

A mini session is a condensed version of my full family photoshoots — in this case, a 20-minute outdoor session at a pre-selected location where the light and scenery are at their best.

Why Chiddingstone Castle?
Chiddingstone Castle is one of Kent’s most charming photo locations. The combination of historic brick walls, autumn foliage, and open woodland creates lots of varied and beautiful backdrops for family portraits, meaning even in a mini session we can capture your family in lots of varied scenes.
It’s a place where children can explore, parents can relax, and families can play and enjoy each other’s company naturally — which is exactly what I love to capture in my family photography sessions in Kent.
Then when you are finished you can enjoy the historic castle, tea room and even pop to the gorgeous historic high street across the river, and enjoy a drink at The Castle Inn and a potter in the gorgeous Chiddingstone Store.
What to Expect
Every family who books will receive a styling and preparation guide ahead of the session. This helps you consider outfits, understand what to expect, and feel confident on the day.
During your session, I’ll gently guide you through some simple poses and activities that help everyone relax and the kids really enjoy the experience. The focus is on capturing connection, personality, and your real family — not staged, formal portraits.
